The Casarota Refuge on the Vigolana Plateau offers typical Trentino cuisine and overnight accommodation. Monte Erio, despite not being particularly high (1627m), thanks to its central position offers a remarkable view of the Asiago Plateau: on one side the northern mountains, with Verena and Portule in the foreground; on the other the fields and districts on the edge of the Val d'Assa, as well as a glimpse of the Tonezza plateau, Novegno and Val d'Astico; going down towards the east, you have a beautiful view of the Asiago basin. The mountain does not have a real summit with a 360° panorama, and is surrounded by tall fir trees, so you have to move around to see all the slopes. It is a very quiet and little frequented area, with relaxing and sweet dawns, very green in summer, snowy in winter.

Beautiful route, but I recommend doing it with a MTB, even better if an e-bike and not with a Gravel bike. Unfortunately, the surface of the forest road both before and after the Lancia refuge, due to the heavy rains of spring 2024, is very loose and irregular which, combined with the slope, is impossible to do by pedaling. For the rest, the landscape is like a postcard and even if you walk a bit carrying your bike, it is worth it. Beautiful tour.

The Stella d'Italia refuge is located at 1,550 meters above sea level on the Dosso del Sommo, above Fondo Grande, in the magnificent context of Alpe Cimbra. It offers a large terrace with a panoramic view of the town of Folgaria (TN) and is managed by the Rech family, who have owned the refuge for decades.

The food is good but reservations are mandatory on weekends. The free deckchairs are also excellent for pleasant relaxation after the meal.
