Isola del Liri, with its waterfalls in the city center, is on the path of San Benedetto

Cistercian monks are still present in this wonderful Gothic abbey located along the path of Saint Benedict.

It was built in 1203 on the ruins of the ancient Roman municipality called Cereatae. It is located in the municipality of Veroli. The monks manage the pharmacy, the liquor store, the restoration of books, the library and the archaeological museum.

Castello Piccolomini is an imposing historic building located in the municipality of Balsorano, in the province of L'Aquila, in Abruzzo. Built in the 15th century, the castle was the residence of the Piccolomini family, nobles of Sienese origin. Its majestic architecture and strategic position on the hills of Valle Roveto make it a fascinating place full of history. Today, the Piccolomini Castle is open to the public and offers the opportunity to explore its frescoed rooms, admire the panoramic view and discover the ancient legends associated with this magnificent fortress.

The Casamari Abbey, located between Frosinone and Sora, is one of the most significant examples of Gothic-Burgundian architecture in Italy. Founded in 1005 by a Benedictine community, it passed to the Cistercians in 1152. The majestic church, dedicated to the Virgin of the Assumption and Saints John and Paul, was consecrated in 1217. Even today, the Cistercians live in this historic place, bearing witness to the solidity of their community and the importance of the abbey in the history of architecture in Lazio.
