From this panoramic road above Buggerru, you can admire the Gulf of Lion, one of the most spectacular coastlines in southwestern Sardinia. The view encompasses miles of wild coastline dotted with dunes, cliffs, and golden beaches. The gulf takes its name from the profile of a cliff resembling a reclining lion and extends to Portixeddu and Capo Pecora. On clear days, you can see the entire coastline, shaped by the wind and waves, which encompasses some of the most beautiful beaches in the Iglesiente area.

The Canal Grande di Masua is a deep inlet along the coast between Masua and Buggerru. The site is of great scientific and scenic interest and is part of the geological heritage of the Geomineral Park of Sardinia. Its limestone walls reveal one of the oldest geological sequences in Italy, with fossils documenting the first life forms on the planet. The trail leading to the canyon is well-marked but requires caution in some exposed or potentially slippery sections.

The majestic limestone monument rises like a sentinel from the deep blue Mediterranean. This imposing rocky spire off the southwest coast of Sardinia is a geological masterpiece, formed by millions of years of erosion. The 133-meter-high rock is a remnant of the Cretaceous period.

The densely growing Euphorbia characias, with its bright yellow inflorescences and gray-green leaves, dominates the Mediterranean maquis of Sardinia. As an adaptation to summer drought, this spurge species has developed a white milky sap that, when damaged, oozes and contains toxic diterpenes. The complex inflorescences consist of seemingly simple flowers that are in fact specialized inflorescences (cyathia) with individual male and female flowers, surrounded by striking bracts. As an important component of Mediterranean sclerophyll vegetation, it contributes to biodiversity and provides food for specialized pollinators early in the year.
