In summer the lake is dry, but there is a good chance of seeing wild horses at the nearby springs.

This settlement is called "Feurras" because of the abundance of ferula plants (in Sardinian, "Feurra") growing in this area. This settlement, "Sa bovida," owes its name to the fact that the vault (sa bovida in Sardinian) was originally plastered with lime mortar, a unique and rare feature among Giara settlements. In autumn, everything here is dry, but in spring, the Pauli are full of water. In some places, the flowers are blooming beautifully, and with luck, you might spot small wild horses.

The horses are totally relaxed and continue to graze even when you walk past. Of course, you should keep an appropriate distance from the animals.

We were there in May and everything was blooming and the smell was amazing 🤩
