Since February 2005, the Wissow Crags have been a lost sight of what they once were. Approximately 50,000 cubic meters of chalk tumbled from the cliff into the sea.

The Wissower Klinken are impressive chalk cliffs on the coast of Rügen, once among the island's most famous natural wonders. Unfortunately, they partially collapsed in 2005 due to a major erosion, but the area around Jasmund National Park still offers stunning views of the coast and the sea.

Welcome to Germany's smallest national park! A fascinating landscape awaits you on 3,070 hectares, with expansive beech forests, idyllic moors, bubbling springs, and, of course, the famous white chalk cliffs. There are 34 landmarks in Jasmund National Park that allow rescuers to quickly locate you in the event of an emergency. The Ernst Moritz Arndt Viewpoint is an impressive vantage point in Jasmund National Park on Rügen. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the striking chalk cliffs and the Baltic Sea. The vantage point was named after the Rügen-born historian and writer Ernst Moritz Arndt.
