Padernello Castle is located in the village of the same name in the Borgo San Giacomo area in the province of Brescia. The castle dates back to the 15th century and is surrounded by a moat which makes it fascinating. Access to the structure (130 rooms on a surface area of 4000 m²) is via a still functioning drawbridge. The castle today hosts exhibitions and events.

Charming castle easily visited

Castle located in a very small village, to reach it and the surrounding area there are many roads perfect for gravel

a little gem in the middle of kilometers of cultivated fields. A stop is a must. the Castle is almost always closed as it opens for events or guided tours, in this village called Padernello there are several restaurants where you can eat very well and help you recover the strength spent pedaling.

Padernello is a small fraction of the municipality of San Giacomo. A small and splendid rural village (https://www.castellodipadernello.it/it/). The Castle dates back to the end of the 14th century and was built by the Martinengo nobles (who also owned the Villachiara castle), a family of origin from the Bergamo area and linked to the Republic of Venice. Unfortunately, for years after the death of the last owner who resided there, it was abandoned, to be taken over by a foundation in the early 2000s.
