Worth visiting is the so-called "Matrice Vecchia" church and, just outside the town centre, the Abbey of San Giorgio, from the Norman era.

Cefalù is a delightful Norman town lying on the shores of a very blue sea and dominated by a fortress so famous as to be known simply as… the Rocca. Easily accessible by train, it is the perfect destination for a day trip from Palermo, for a holiday of a few days or as a base for exploring the nearby Aeolian Islands, but in our opinion once you arrive in Cefalù you will never want to leave.
