Iconic cycleable asphalt ramp leading to the Castle

The passage under the castle walls that runs along the Adda River has been closed for too long. They should make it safe and reopen traffic. The scenery is worth it!

Fantastic spot. I recommend being quiet when approaching; if you're lucky, you'll see lots of birds resting on the foppa. There's also an observation point along the perimeter of the foppa, but you'll need a lot of patience to see anything.

Legend has it that a ghost lives in the castle tower overlooking the place in the photo.

To reach the oasis entering from the sanatorium I noticed a lot of debris so once at the oasis I found both wheels flat.

Going up or down, it's a must!

The Esterle hydroelectric power plant, located on the right bank of the Adda River, began operating in 1914. It is dedicated to the memory of Carlo Esterle, Edison's managing director until 1918. The building, particularly known for its beauty, is constructed in a style derived from the eclectic Lombard tradition. The meticulous ornaments, the geometric and floral motifs, the columns and capitals at the entrance, the wrought iron street lamps and the imposing Gothic-style windows make it appear more like a villa than a real industrial building.
