Golferenzo is a village well worth the climb: small, well-kept, and surrounded by the hills of the Tidone Valley and the Alta Val Versa. Getting there by bike means pedaling through vineyards, along scenic roads, and with views that will make all your efforts worthwhile. If you enjoy cycling through nature and discovering authentic villages, make a note of this: it's a tour worth doing at least once.

This stretch of the road connecting the hamlets of Torrone and Pizzofreddo is very scenic, as it runs along a ridge offering open views of the Versa Valley on one side and the Tidone Valley on the other.

In this stretch the road runs along a ridge from which there is an open view of the vineyards on both sides, with several lines of mountains that follow one another towards the horizon.

In autumn the vineyards take on warm colors, with all the shades of color from dark green, to yellow and red. In the background you can see San Damiano al Colle on the right and Costa Montefedele on the left.

Vicobarone, of Roman origins, takes its name from a 'Vicus Varroni' of the imperial era and has been known as "Vici Baruni" since the year 833. Possession of the monastery of Bobbio and considered one of the first organized communities in the area, it expanded thanks to the numerous and important monastic cells of the Bobbio monastery, present in the area. The transformation of the castle dates back to the end of the seventeenth century, carried out by the Marquises Malvicini Fontana who made it an elegant residence with large and well-kept cellars. A final renovation was recently carried out by the current owners who adapted the building to accommodate tourists without altering its architectural characteristics and recovering the thousandth tower in which the "blade well" from the feudal era was located.

This is a panoramic point on the hills immersed in the Val Versa in Oltrepò Pavese. Look up while pedaling in this corner of paradise, try to see the villages on the crest and the valley not far away.
