I ate at the refuge and was able to recharge there. Funnily enough, I asked a hiker for directions, who sent me toward Dimaro via the Passo de Contrabandierie, saying, "Quite steep but possible." I cursed the guy at least 1,000 times on the climb. 27 kg bike, 15 kg bag. It wasn't fun, more like a near-death experience. The only way to get there was with the bike lying on the bag. Dangerous: 6/10 Was it a thrill? Damn it, and I'll take the wrong path again.

Passo Paradiso is easily reachable with the facilities of the Adamello ski area, both in winter and summer. To get here, in the season when the green meadows color the mountain slopes, you can, in fact, take advantage of the Paradiso cable car. Here, a magnificent view of the reliefs of the Presena glacier surrounds you. You can set off for beautiful walks and on your return you can refresh yourself at the refuge of the same name not far from the cable car arrival point.

We stayed here overnight on our Alpine Cross, it was fantastic, the peace and seclusion. In the valley you feel like you have been transported to another time. The hut owner Allesandro is super nice and takes great care of his guests. It was an unforgettable experience.

The Bozzi refuge is located at an altitude of 2,478 meters in the Montozzo basin, in an elevated position compared to the suggestive lake of the same name. The refuge is dedicated to the memory of Angelino Bozzi, one of the first to fall during the First World War on this Alpine front. Near the refuge there are the remains of a military village transformed into an open-air historical museum, which includes trenches, watchtowers and shooting positions. From the sunny terrace of the refuge, you can enjoy a splendid view of the steep final climb that leads to the Montozzo saddle. All the other surrounding trails are quite easy and more or less flat.

The Malga Stain refuge is run by kind and competent people. You eat very well and you can stay in small stone and wood houses. The natural terrace on which the refuge stands is beautiful and from here there is a wonderful view of the valley and the surrounding mountains.

The refuge was only open from June 2nd, 2023, unfortunately we were a day too early, but the nice host sold us something to drink. Unfortunately, the kitchen was still closed. But the views from up here made up for it.
