Excellent starting point for excursions in the area

Beautiful lake with dreamy bays to linger

Lake Wolayersee lies at approximately 1,950 meters and is surrounded by several peaks with steep rock faces. The lake has no inflow; its water comes from rainfall and melting snow. On the lakeshore, the Wolayersee Hut, a mountain refuge belonging to the Austrian Alpine Club, offers accommodations and meals.

The hardest hill in Europe, a title that may not correspond to the absolute truth, but which was not assigned by chance; probably the hardest climb ever faced by the Great Cycling. If you want to face this climb I think you know what you are getting into... I can only wish you good luck and assure you that the satisfaction it gives is unique

Beautifully stylish mountain village where you can feel at home. You come in and feel peace and security in the protection of the mountains surrounding the village. A walk through the village is worthwhile... coming from the city, it feels a little like a journey to another time.

Starting point for excursions to Lake Volaia. Parking nearby is free.

The beautiful lake can be easily circumnavigated. I recommend walking along the shore to admire the view from all angles.

Refuge not always open. I recommend finding out about seasonal hours before visiting. The view from here is still excellent.
