There should have been a passage that connected the path with the road on the other side of the Luretta, but now the passage is not there, follow the road to Casa Calcagni, where there is a passage of the stream.

From this panoramic point above Travo and Perino, in the Piacenza Apennines, green valleys seem to flow towards the Trebbia River and its valley. On these paths at the foot of the Lazzaro and Buga mountains it is often difficult to meet a living soul, which makes the adventure a true immersion in nature.

In 2010, in the adjacent rustic building, in the shade of the ruins of the ancient medieval castle, six comfortable and welcoming rooms were created, surrounded by greenery and tranquility. Il Gelso thus becomes a real bed & breakfast, to be chosen as a strategic point from which to start to discover the hills of the province of Piacenza

The Castle of Monteventano is a fortified complex located in the hamlet of the same name in the municipality of Piozzano, in the province of Piacenza. The origins of the complex are to be found in the period around the year one thousand.

The history of this castle has been tormented, many changes of hands conditioned by bloody events, frauds and family extinctions due to lack of heirs. In 1412 it was owned by the Arcelli family (who were most likely responsible for the first construction). Arranged on a rectangular plan with five stone and brick towers. Four towers that stand out from the corners and an entrance donjon in the center of the north-west façade. The towers have different shapes but all are quadrangular and have battlements covered by roofs. The structure is made of stone except for the projections of the towers which are made of bricks. Although externally it still appears to be in good condition, the complex has significant stability problems.
