Beautiful panoramic peak between the Varaita and Maira valleys

The Elio Bonfante bivouac is located in the Maira Valley, in the municipality of Prazxo, at the foot of Chersogno and Rocca La Marchisa, at 2,630 meters above sea level. It has 12 beds.

I visited it on a rainy day, with poor visibility, but despite everything it turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. It is a spectacle of nature.

You can also go down there by mountain bike, with a good S3 level.

Fermo Cuncunà in Occitan means "crouching woman" and, to be called this, it is precisely the set of rocks that form the profile of a crouched female figure. Not only this surprising play of perspectives particularly evident on the road of the Vallone di Elva. Here, you can enjoy an enchanting view of the Bettone, Chersogno, Marchisa, Pelvo and Monviso mountains. While under the rock, if you don't suffer from vertigo, you can admire the overhang on the Vallone di Elva.

From this panoramic point above the village of San Martino Superiore, the last in the municipality of Stroppo on the road to Elva, you have a great view of the Maira Valley. Here you can walk in complete tranquility, among the most silent and fascinating mountains in the province of Cuneo.

Watershed peak between the Maira and Varaita valleys, clearly visible and reachable from the Strada dei Cannoni with a path lasting about half an hour
