A beautiful refuge nestled in the mountains. I recommend booking in advance to secure a spot, even just for lunch. The trail is steep; I recommend appropriate equipment, especially footwear.

Rifugio Orto di Donna, closed all year round except for the summer months. Always better to call and ask for precise information. A 5 minute walk from the refuge is the Bivacco K2 always open, with a stove and 4 beds with mattresses.

Very charming place, everything is made of marble (even the streets!). There is a park with benches and a bar. There is a parking lot in front of the place.

One of my favorite circular walks, start from Ristorante Alto Matanna with a coffee, lunch at Rifugio Forte dei Marmi and back for a cold beer. Book in advance as the refugio can be busy in the summer.

Key point for the crossing of the Apuan Alps and for those who decide to undertake the long and complex route of the Via Vandelli. Small but welcoming, it comfortably offers hospitality to around twenty travellers. It should be taken into account that there are no abundant water sources around the refuge. It is important to always go up with a little extra reserve. It's a little help that we can all offer while respecting the environment and the mountains.

Beautiful structure with tables outside, 20 places to sleep. You can have a coffee or eat. The managers are very kind.

Conti refuge is a place to find people who share a passion for hiking. The refuge has about twenty places to sleep, they serve coffee and lunch. They are very kind and always ready to help. A truly delightful environment.

The mountain village was visited in August, but not too crowded. Great atmosphere. There is a bar with hot food.
