Passo Lanciano connects the two Abruzzo villages of Pretoro and Lettomanoppello. It is a place much loved by the locals, both in the summer and in the winter months: in fact, various hiking trails start from here and there are ski slopes. There is no shortage of restaurants where you can eat the typical arrosticini.

A climb not to be underestimated with double-digit gradient peaks. It leads to Passo Lanciano (1310 m a.s.l.), a pass in the Abruzzo Apennines, located between the provinces of Chieti and Pescara, on the northern slope of the Maiella massif. If you are on this uphill stretch you are tackling the climb from the village of Pretoro.

very famous track... this is where Eddy Merckx's rise to fame began with a glamorous mountain stage win at the 1974 Giro! ...a unique opportunity to climb around 2000 m in one go! you can drive to the top of the blockhouse to the end of the tar, after all the rifugios! ;-)

Arrival of the ninth stage of the Giro d'Italia 2022. Its name is of German origin and means "house of stones". The name was coined by the Austrian military referring to a stone fort located on top of the mountain built for defensive purposes. The debut of the Blockhaus at the Giro d'Italia took place on 31 May 1967, on that occasion the stage was won by a very young Eddy Merckx

Lettomanoppello-Città della Pietra. Every year, at the end of summer, the "10 Giornate in Pietra" event kicks off in this medieval village. The main theme is the white stone of the area and the long local tradition in carving it. During the event, world and local artists, sculptors and stonemasons exhibit their works and stone processing workshops are organized. Two Italian academies of fine arts were involved in the 2022 edition: Accademia di Belle Arti de L'Aquila and Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, Milano.
