11월 14, 2023, Santa Maria Maggiore Church
In the interior of room 1 of the museum, a small, interesting Diocesan Museum has been set up in the crypt, which collects various art objects from the church's treasure, among which is a fifteenth-century wooden statue known as the Madonna of the Help, but above all the fragments of a silver processional cross by the famous fifteenth-century goldsmith sculptor Nicola da Guardiagrele, signed and dated 1431. The cross was stolen years ago, dismembered and placed on the clandestine antiques market to be sold in pieces, and only some are been recovered. On the EAST side and more precisely the opposite part of the facade, crossing the portico you arrive at a beautiful viewpoint adjacent to Piazza Mercato.

11월 8, 2023, Serramonacesca
From this beautiful and small town you can reach Passo Lanciano at around 1300 m above sea level. on a well-signposted route from the Majella national park for MTBs and hikers. The distance is approximately 13 km with extreme climbs that put a strain on the legs. Initially you travel about 4/5 km on asphalt, then a wide road rock trek begins. It will also happen that you get off the bike but that's no big deal. For lovers of hermitages, along the route, after about 3.5 km from Serramonacesca, in the Brecciarola district you reach a crossroads which after 1.2 km leads to the Eramo si Sant'Onofrio 8 (part not passable by bike). Once you reach Passo Lanciano you have two options: go back down to Pretoro with a 10 km descent on asphalt or continue climbing on asphalt for 9 km up to the Blockhaus passing through the Maielletta.

10월 26, 2023, Sacrario di Bocca di Valle
It was said of Him that he died smiling. Andrea Bafile, born in Monticchio, a hamlet of L'Aquila, on 7 October 1878 and died on the Piave front in the night between 11 and 12 March 1918. Below is why he was buried in Guardiagrele (CH). He had to be buried in the monumental cemetery of Venice, Gabriele D'Annunzio pushed hard for this to happen, but two Abruzzo people prevailed over him who managed to bring the body back and buried it, in 1923, with an impressive ceremony at in which around 10 thousand people took part, in the shrine dug in Guardiagrele (Chieti), in the bowels of the Majella. It was Raffarle Paolucci of Orsogna and the Honorable Cristini of Guardiagrele who ensured that instead of any unknown soldier it was Andrea Bafile himself who was buried in the shrine, considering him the example of courage and heroism belonging to three military corps: the Navy, Aviation and Infantry. And it is not clear why no intercession was received from L'Aquila, his hometown. Guardiagrele thus had the honor of hosting Bafile's body, in Bocca di Valle, in a cave which is a place full of suggestions, decorated with the delicate enamelled colors of the majolica by the Ortonese artist Basilio Cascella, three gigantic ceramic panels made up of 1400 tiles, a masterpiece of the art of the founder of the Cascella family. The Guardiagrele cave was dug with the economic participation of all of Abruzzo and Molise, a sort of subscription by both regions, every single citizen paid their own donation to pay homage to the soldier Andrea Bafile. When as a child I asked why a sailor was buried in the mountains, popular wisdom replied that he likes to admire the sea from the mother mountain, the Majella. On 29 and 30 September 2023, at the Bocca di Valle shrine in Guardiagrele, the celebrations for the centenary of the transfer of the remains of Lieutenant Andrea Bafile, hero and gold medal for military valour, with the presence of the Undersecretary of State for Defense with delegation to the Navy, Matteo Perego of Cremnago, together with the commander of the Southern Maritime Command, Admiral. of Division Flavio Biaggi, representing the Navy General Staff, who will join the other civil and military authorities present for the commemoration of the Hero.

10월 20, 2023, Chiesa di San Nicola
The medieval church of San Nicola, now incorporated into the historic centre, was located just outside the walls of the town and was always subject to the Benedictine abbey of San Salvatore a Maiella, since 1151. Today it can be seen in the forms conferred between Cinque and seventeenth century, characterized by a large porticoed access arch under which the late sixteenth century portal opens; the interior has three irregular naves with barrel and vaulted ceilings and preserves a terracotta Pietà and a sculpted wooden door, both dating back to the 17th century. On a stone block of the external buttress we read the date 1528. The patron saint San Domenico is venerated there, whose feast is celebrated on the first Sunday of May with the serpari rites and the re-enactment of the miracle of the wolf. Inside, the valuable altars dedicated to San Giuseppe, the Madonna del Carmine and San Carlo Borromeo are also preserved.

10월 20, 2023, Statua del Lupo di Pretoro
After passing the village of Pretoro in the direction of Passo Lanciano/Roccamontepiano, you will find the beautiful work made with Majella stone and symbol of the territory. The legend of "Lu Lope" of Pretoro recalls ancestral fears typical of mountain areas. Immersed in the Maielletta Mountain Community, Pretoro is part of the most beautiful villages in Italy not only for its historical and architectural peculiarities, but also for the intensity of its traditions. The solemn celebrations in honor of San Domenico Abate combine the sacredness of the religious festival with the profound poetry of popular beliefs. Every year, on the first Sunday of May, after the Holy Mass in the Church dedicated to the Saint, the first morning is always dedicated to the "serpari". The largest and most beautiful snakes found in the surroundings of Pretoro are carried in procession behind the statue of San Domenico and, subsequently, the serpents who have captured the three longest snakes are rewarded.
