This part of the route of the cycle/pedestrian path of the Via Verde Costa dei Trabocchi which lies in the territory of San Salvo Marina represents the southern Abruzzo section of the Adriatica cycle path, Bicitalia network number 6. The cycle path in the two-way direction was resined and then painted green and the same in the pedestrian section, but in reality it had to be made in blue to distinguish it from the cycle path and to make it clear to cyclists and pedestrians where to pass within a mixed pedestrian and cycle path and to avoid unnecessary accidents linked to the lack of chromatic distinction of the two sections.

Exceptional landscape, absolutely worth visiting. You can start from either Vasto or San Salvo, in both cases it is easy to find parking and it is free.

Have a coffee at Porto vastò

The cycle path crosses various towns in Abruzzo starting from Ortona up to San Salvo. It is advisable to always pay close attention between bikers and walkers.

It's a popular cycle path and it would be inadvisable to whiz around at 40 km/h on a racing bike. Pedaling accompanied by the smell of pine trees and the scent of the sea is a far greater emotion than monitoring your average speed on your bike's GPS. Enjoy it!

Typical medieval village built in bricks. The civic tower with the clock, the ancient tower and the medieval village, located in the historic centre, are the most relevant attractions. Fun fact: the village of Casalbordino is mentioned by Gabriele D'Annunzio in his novel "The Triumph of Death"

Going past the small chalets, used as stable stalls, take the cycle path towards San Salvo along the various beaches. Each of them is organized with beach volleyball courts, relaxation area 🎉🎶🍹🍹

The border crossing (from the map) takes place with the transit on the bridge, made of wooden slats, from San Salvo Marina to Vasto marina (and vice versa)
