The seafront of Francavilla al Mare is perfect for walking and finding refreshment in one of the many restaurants present. The beach is eight kilometers long and is characterized by golden sand. During the Second World War, the city was totally destroyed, and therefore the city you see today is quite modern. It is the departure or arrival for the Costa dei Trabocchi cycle path, now a well-known destination in the world of cycling and cycle tourism.

On August 18th there are always fireworks from this pier that last about 30 minutes 🎆

La Majelletta is a place much loved by those who practice sports. In fact, various ski resorts depart from here, offering the possibility of skiing while seeing the Adriatic Sea, only 30 kilometers away as the crow flies. La Majelletta was the finish line of two tough stages of the Giro d'Italia: in 2017 Nairo Quintana won, in 2022 the victory fell to Jay Hindley. The Majelletta can also be reached in the winter season: pedaling up here with snow on the roadside is spectacular.

Passo Lanciano connects the two Abruzzo villages of Pretoro and Lettomanoppello. It is a place much loved by the locals, both in the summer and in the winter months: in fact, various hiking trails start from here and there are ski slopes. There is no shortage of restaurants where you can eat the typical arrosticini.

The monument consists of a truncated cone supporting a disc, both in concrete. There are nine travertine shapes on the disc. The stylized figures look at a dark stone bollard on which the dedication is engraved. The authors of the monument are remembered in a bronze plate on the left of the disc.
