Lake Rascino can be reached with an easy walk from the Tracerna farmhouse. The karst lake is located at 1,146 meters. It is an ideal destination for finding fresh air on hot summer days, or for a pleasant winter walk when the lake turns into a large sheet of ice.

Beautiful lake, very quiet and uncrowded.

From the Certo Piano crossroads, you can take this dirt road that crosses the thick woods of the Monti Navegna and Cervia Regional Nature Reserve. This is one of the most beautiful stretches in autumn to witness the explosion of colors from the trees in the reserve.

In the heart of the Cicolano mountains, the Rascino plateau is one of the hidden pearls of Lazio. This vast karst basin is located over 1000 meters above sea level and is completely surrounded by mountains. The lake of the same name can be circumnavigated by following a path that is at times not very clear and which, after a heavy rain, can be very muddy. Here the Rascino lentil (Slow Food presidium) is grown, which on flowering days offers a magnificent palette of colours.
