The Buchholzstraße has little traffic (but if there is traffic, then it's a race track) and top-quality asphalt. It's a great road to the village of Steinbeck. In the direction of Ibbenbüren, the Buchholzstraße climbs slightly but steadily.

The Schultenhof was first documented in the 11th century as the "Haupthof Mettingen" (Main Farm of Mettingen). However, it was already established in the 7th century and is considered the original farmstead of Mettingen. It forms the village center and marks the beginning of Mettingen's settlement history. Today, the Schultenhof houses museums, gardens, restaurants, and more. Civil wedding ceremonies can also be held there.
