Originally known as Porta della Fiera, it was rebuilt in 1841 in its current form; it faces via Occidentale, former state road 363, next to the Torre Adriana. The structure, articulated around a round arch, has a regular stone facing only on the external facade. On the top there is a pediment with a coat of arms and an inscription commemorating the date of inauguration of the road.

Passo Lanciano connects the two Abruzzo villages of Pretoro and Lettomanoppello. It is a place much loved by the locals, both in the summer and in the winter months: in fact, various hiking trails start from here and there are ski slopes. A climb not to be underestimated with double-digit gradient peaks. It leads to Passo Lanciano (1310 m a.s.l.), a pass in the Abruzzo Apennines, located between the provinces of Chieti and Pescara, on the northern slope of the Maiella massif. If you are on this uphill stretch you are tackling the climb from the village of Pretoro.

Pretoro is part of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Pretoro is a village of ancient origins, its name derives from the Latin Praetorium (group of soldiers). Among the things to do here we recommend eating the famous Abruzzo guitar pasta or a piece of the typical "Torta del Lupo". Finally, your lunch can be accompanied by a classic glass of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo.
