Pacentro, an enchanting Abruzzo village, with picturesque alleys and panoramic views towards the majestic Majella mountains.

The Morronese abbey is the abbey of Santo Spirito al Morrone, also known as the Morronese or Celestiniana abbey, located in the hamlet of the same name Badia about 5 km from the Abruzzo town of Sulmona.

Ancient headquarters of the Celestine Order. More recently used as a penitentiary, then abandoned. Now they are trying to bring it back to its former glory.

This is a suggestive archaeological site that is easily accessible on foot from the provincial road. From here you can enjoy a magnificent view of the valley and also admire a glimpse of the Hermitage of Sant'Onofrio, located just above the archaeological area but reachable via a different route. Really worth the short walk and enjoy the view.

The Abbey of Santo Spirito al Morrone, better known as Badia Morronese, was for many centuries the main and famous settlement of the Celestines, and represented the vital center of the cultural, religious and civil life of the region. The monumental complex, extending over an area of 16,600 square meters, is located in the foothills of Morrone, in a territory that has always been sacred and in close relationship with the hermitage of S. Onofrio and the Sanctuary of Ercole Curino, both a few steps away on the mountain.

The Hermitage of Santa Croce al Morrone, also known as the Hermitage of San Pietro, is located at almost 1,400 meters above sea level in a magnificent position near the top of Mount Morrone. This beautiful place is extremely suggestive and offers a panoramic view of the Peligna Valley.
