Located directly on the Fulda River – above the town on the Fulda Cycle Path and about a 10- to 15-minute walk from the town center – is the campsite. Until 1959, this site featured a "beach bathing area" where one could swim directly in the Fulda under the supervision of a lifeguard. The current campsite building, which now houses the sanitary facilities (toilets and showers), a restaurant, and the administration offices, was built in 1931. Directly opposite the campsite is the festival grounds, where the "Heimat- und Strandfest" (Local Heritage and Beach Festival) takes place annually on the first weekend in July. These days, a single scoop costs €2. But you get loads of fun for that price. Not just for the little ones 😉

This station is a faithful replica of the Bornschisser Fountain and its history. It's hilarious when the ball reaches its target. We laughed until we cried. Even older children will have fun here (and at the other stations) ☺️
