A small fountain located in the municipality of Rionero but known as "the Barile fountain". It is located between the 2 municipalities and was restored a few years ago thanks to the good will of local artists and poets (from Rionero and Barile). Pietragalla, a small town known for its "Palmenti" or "rutte", cave cellars dug into the rock, preserves thousand-year-old stories. You walk through the alleys of the medieval village, guided by the bell tower of San Nicola di Bari and the Palazzo Ducale. Local history tells of the French influence and heroism during the Brigandage. Nearby, the ancient settlement on Monte Torretta reveals precious archaeological remains.

Lago Grande and Lago Piccolo lie, at about 650 meters above sea level, on the crater of Monte Vulture, an extinct volcano. Their greenish waters, separated by a thin line of land, are surrounded by lush forests of beech and oak.

Municipality perched on a plateau at 839 m a.s.l. particularly famous for its millstones and its elegant ducal palace.

The particularity of this municipality is that it is an ancient Albanian colony founded at the end of the 1400s by Albanians fleeing persecution by the Turks. For a long time the Arbëreshe language was used in this municipality, typical of the Albanian exiles in Italy.

These beautiful lakes are located at the foot of the now extinct Vulture volcano. The beauty of this place has earned it the nickname of "Switzerland of Basilicata". The lakes are located within the Vulture Regional Nature Reserve.
