The Mother Church of San Nicola di Bari in Ruoti, rebuilt in neoclassical style between 1794 and 1810 after the demolition of the ancient structure, features an elegant three-nave interior with a coffered ceiling and preserves valuable works, including a 16th-century canvas and 18th-century paintings from the Neapolitan school.

One of the 25 mills once in operation along the Bradano stream. A crossing point for mule tracks transporting grain between the Tavoliere delle Puglie (the kingdom's granary) and Caserta, it allowed for rest and also for grinding the grain. Today, the only one completely restored and soon to be operational.

The climb is tough and the descent is beautiful.

Ruoti is known for its position overlooking the Avigliano river. The origin of its name may derive from the term "arable land". Among its architecture, the Church of San Nicola di Bari and that of San Rocco stand out.

Avigliano, known as a city thanks to a 1991 decree, boasts a mountainous landscape with mountains such as Monte Caruso and Monte Carmine. The origin of the name could derive from "avis locum" or "locum avellani". The city is enriched by religious architecture such as the Basilica of Santa Maria del Carmine and the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli.

Characteristic for its Mother Church dedicated to San Nicola di Bari, Picerno sees its place of worship rising majestically on the hill, dominating the surrounding panorama. The church has undergone numerous transformations, including notable interventions after the earthquakes of the 19th and 20th centuries. The Sanctuary was founded in 1130 as a refuge for the Romiti Basilian monks who hid a statue of the Madonna there fleeing the incursion of the Saracens. It is located at 960 m above sea level at the foot of the homonymous mountain.
