This mountain is ideal for sunrise hikes, as you can reach the summit from the nearby rest area within 30-40 minutes and thus have a very good view in the morning or during the day over Portoferraio, Rio Marina or parts of Porto Azurro

I would not recommend following this trail. The climb to Tambone from the Passo dell'Obelisco is historically off limits even for the strongest bikers, the Sira (from Procchio to the GTE) has deteriorated a lot and requires super technical ability. The descent from Monte Fonza however contains in itself the reasons why many bikers come to Elba. Traveling in the mountains with the sea below. A beautiful vertigo.

Yes, the views across the valley to the sea in Rio nell'Elba are truly impressive – especially due to the village's elevated position at around 170 meters. From many points in and around the village, there are sweeping views of: *the green valley stretching below the village, *the coastline dotted with small coves, *and, in the distance, the shimmering Tyrrhenian Sea.

A great S2 trail with fantastic views. Anyone who struggles with the first 30 meters will probably have to push their bike several times. The lower section is a bit easier and less eroded.

A fantastic coastal road bike route. Almost car-free at Easter
