The hamlet of Mompellato, on the road to Col del Lys, is a very interesting place to visit. Among its points of interest are its beautiful fountains. In particular, a washhouse has a trompe-l'oeil painting on the wall depicting washerwomen at work on the opposite side of the washhouse. Very impressive. Other fountains are simpler, but no less fascinating. Visiting Mompellato is not a waste of time.

Originally a 17th-century church, it was renovated in the 19th century when it was promoted to parish status. A simple structure, with an elliptical rose window partially covered by the portico protecting the entrance, and a bell tower with an extremely linear clock, all plastered in white. A tribute to practicality. On the wall of one of the nearby houses are two plaques commemorating the fallen of the two world wars, and a 19th-century sundial, unfortunately missing its gnomon, which it would be nice to see restored. It is located at the end of the beautiful hamlet of Mompellato. Visiting it can also be an excuse to visit the hamlet, which is well worth it.

Just below the road, a beautiful fountain with drinkable water, reached by a short flight of steps. Near the fountain, a stone bench. The whole thing is nestled in a dense forest, which provides shade and coolness in the summer. It's a good place for a break. A little further on, the village of Mompellato offers several points of interest.
