The Pietra nera cliff is considered one of the most beautiful ophiolite rocks of the Parma Apennines. It is located north of Monte Canate. It has a height of 677 meters and gives rise to a landscape and morphologies that are truly singular and harsh compared to the soft surrounding hills, so much so that a short via ferrata has also been equipped on it by the CAI of Parma. More suitable for hiking, however for mountain bikes or e-bikes it would be better to avoid it, the last part to climb to the top is a little steep.

On the imposing crenellated walls, crossed in part by a panoramic walkway, the bulk of the keep stands out. From the main square, where the sixteenth-century fountain is located, going east you reach the Romanesque church of San Giorgio, from the second half of the twelfth century. Vigoleno is a fraction of the municipality of Vernasca, in the province of Piacenza. Located on the crest of a not very high relief, it enjoys a wide panorama of the surrounding valleys and hills …
