Hiking trails in the Barloher Forest.

This small grove next to the Jevenau River is a school forest. As part of the "Nature Experience for Daycare and School" campaign, a project day with art teacher Manuela Rathjen took place there on May 23, 2017. Seventh-grade students, under supervision, created land art objects such as the "Circle of Life" and a "Teepee with Wind Chimes." These works not only fostered creativity, but also an awareness of nature and respectful interaction with one another. Furthermore, regular events such as the maintenance of nesting boxes are held in the school forest, in which families can participate. The Jevenau School Forest is thus an example of practical environmental education and strengthens the connection between school, nature, and the community.

Giant sequoia is the name given to the sequoia trees native to the west coast of North America. This tree is already of an impressive size and has the cone-shaped trunk typical of cypresses.

A sculpture by Siegfried Assmann is intended to commemorate the great oxen drives. The memorial commemorates the fallen soldiers of both world wars from the parish of Hohenwestedt. The circular structure consists of field stones on a raised hill with two staircases and 16 pillars. The plaques bear the names of the fallen soldiers from the 16 parishes of the parish.
