Circular routes in the Würselen city forest There are four well-developed routes in the Würselen city forest, on which you can hike, jog or simply enjoy nature. From the car parks, the four routes, ranging from 1.5 to 5 kilometers in length, lead along varied paths into the beautiful city forest. The Hermann-Löns-Pfad is 1.5 kilometers long, The Igelweg-Runde is 1.8 kilometers long, The Trockenbusch-Runde is 2.5 kilometers long, The Gut-Schwarzenbruch-Runde is 2.8 kilometers long and The Forsthaus-Runde is 5 kilometers long, which, with its precisely measured length, is also aimed at cross-country skiers. In June 2014, six new maps were put up at the car parks to guide those looking for local recreation to the desired routes. This map is available for downloading and printing here:

A very beautiful small forest with play activities, such as wooden weights, a newly created barefoot path, sound sticks and a rabbit school in and in the immediate vicinity of the forest adventure path/Hermann Löns path.

The path to the footbridge is unfortunately a bit overgrown, but it's still quite easy to get there. The Saubach meanders particularly idyllicly through the forest at this point, making it inviting to take a break.

A very nice rest area in summer with a large terrace. Very busy on weekends.

Beautifully situated in the middle of nature, slightly off the route but a pleasure to take a break here

Anna Gertrud Mommerz Anna Getrud Mommerz lost her husband early on. In order to survive, she helped workers from Verlautenheide and Eilendorf who worked in Stolberg carry their belongings. In the Rhenish language, Anna Gertrud was a "Mittchen", a contemptible, miserable woman without a husband. The money was just enough for her to survive. She often went with her friend Maria Kaußen, who also did this work, today one would say "service". performed. On April 30, 1909, Anna G. Mommerz went alone because her friend did not show up at the agreed meeting point. Later it turned out that Maria Kaussen had seen a man who seemed strange to her near the later murder site. It could even be that Maria had disturbed this man in his sex crime. Since she herself had only been sexually molested by a man in the winter, around Christmas time, Maria now took a long detour around this forest area. Apparently Anna Gertrud Mommerz knew nothing about these events. So she probably ran into the sex offender's arms. She died on April 30, 1909 in the Atscher forest near the dry bush clearing. This murder was never solved. An older wooden murder victim cross was renewed by the friends of the Eilendorf homeland in memory of Anna Gertrud Mommerz and is clearly visible next to the heavily used footpath. A small footbridge leads over the lateral ditch. Opposite, a park bench offers walkers the opportunity to take a break and a short souvenir. There is information about this act in the Eilendorfer Heimatblatt from 1995.
