A plaque on the rock marks a spot where the monk Magnus rested in 746. Magnus is an important person in the history of the Allgäu. He killed the dangerous snake Boa, which was wreaking havoc in Kempten, he killed the dragon of Roßhaupten, and he is considered the founder of the Benedictine monastery of St. Mang. The plaque in the forest above the Weißensee also marks a natural niche, a magical place in the Allgäu. A worthwhile tour along the Weissensee directly on the shore. The route is good and the ride is relaxed. The views of the lake and the mountains are fabulous. A wonderful experience.

At the end of a rooty descent, you pass a small memorial to Monk Magnus. From here it continues along the Weißensee, which is highly recommended to walk around.
