The lake is easily circumnavigable on foot. There are good forest paths, and from Boltenmühle, a stretch of road. The Rottstiel Bridge is currently under construction, so you can only walk halfway around the lake, or if you're in good shape, you can also take in Lake Zermützsel.

As of August 25, there is no bridge here. The abutments are complete, but the bridge itself is still missing. However, there were no signs of any further construction.
