Unfortunately, this is nothing more than a practical shelter. Also directly around the hut there is rather little attractive.

From the viewing platform you have a good view over the lake and you can rest on the benches provided.

It's nice to hike the shady trails around the mountain lake.

The hut is located slightly above the mountain lake and offers a good place to rest.

The Dammer Bergsee is a lake and a nature reserve near the town of Damme in the Lower Saxony district of Vechta. The 1.05 km² large protected area with the registration number NSG WE 222 has been a nature reserve since 1995. It is located in the Dammer Berge range and is part of the FFH area 317 "Dammer Berge". The lake itself, which is 2 km north of Damme town centre, was about 700 m wide, about 560 m long and an average depth of 3.20 m as recently as the 2000s. Coming from the west, it's fun on the MTB! On the slight slope with flow down to the playground. Then either carry up the stairs to the north or stay "down" further, unfortunately there are currently harvester tracks and trees across. Trail fit and watch out for pedestrians!

Highly recommended, there is also a beautiful, large forest playground!
