"Niederlangenberg is a town in Hückeswagen on the Bevertalsperre in the Oberberg district in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia. In 1484 the place was first mentioned in church accounts. Spelling of the first mention: Langenberge. The Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715 shows the farm as Langenberg. In the 18th century, the town belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen. The well-preserved half-timbered house at Niederlangenberg 5 dates from the mid-19th century and is now a listed monument in the town of Hückeswagen. It has a half-hipped roof, visible framework on the west and north side and full slating on the south and east side. 1815/16 66 inhabitants lived in the village, but no distinction is made between Oberlangenberg and Niederlangenberg. In 1832 Langenberg belonged to the Berghausener Honschaft (also no distinction between Ober- and Niederlangenberg), which was part of the Hückeswagener foreign citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor's office. At that time, the (double) town, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district, had ten residential buildings and 15 agricultural buildings.
