Lake Walchsee, at the foot of the imposing Kaiser Mountains, is not only one of the most beautiful but also one of the warmest lakes in Tyrol. This makes it a popular bathing lake and a true flagship of the Kaiserwinkl region in the Tyrolean lowlands – in fact, Lake Walchsee was even immortalized with a blue wave in the village coat of arms of the municipality of the same name. The lake has many exciting and astonishing facts and stories to offer that are guaranteed to surprise you.

From here, you'll have a beautiful first glimpse of Lake Walsch and can get a taste of the cool water. You can also enjoy many sports on and around the lake. In the villages, there are lidos, restaurants, beer gardens, and accommodations.

The approximately 5 km long toll road is open year-round and leads directly into the Kitzbühel Alps nature reserve. A bizarre, wild and romantic mountain world with two alpine inns where you can perfectly satisfy your hunger, no matter how small or large it is. (The Kaiserschmarrn was sensationally delicious. 😋)

At 65 hectares, our "Schwemm" is the largest contiguous moorland in North Tyrol. The diversity of wetlands and the unique flora and fauna make this nature reserve a true natural gem. Since 2003, the Schwemm has been classified as a Natura 2000 site, protecting the natural habitats of our wild animal species and rare plants. For example, 33 of the 70 dragonfly species found in North Tyrol live in the "Schwemm." Here, near the Moarwirt, you have the opportunity to spot rare animals or identify rare plants.
