A deep cut is being dug here: the materials from the eruption of the Maria Laach volcano are being mined using open-cast mining methods, and the mountain is already very hollow. From the path, the area is mostly so closed off that no direct view is possible, but there are two places opposite where you can see. This point is a few steps off the path, but it also offers a bench where you can rest.

Always drive against the direction of the Nürburgring. Then you will see the cars for longer. If you don't want to see the ring activities, just turn off into the forest and look for wildlife.
