"The Warche rises near the town of Buchholz, just a few hundred meters from the German-Belgian border. After a course of 6 km, the Warche finally flows into the Bütgenbach reservoir below Büllingen. At an altitude of almost 600 m, located on the western slope of the Losheimergraben plateau, the upper Warche valley is characterized by high rainfall and snowy winters. The damp, cool character of the low mountain range characterizes the flora. In the hay meadows, typical species such as meadow knotweed, cranesbill, bearberry and the greater burnet can be found in sometimes considerable densities. In early summer, some meadows turn into a sea of pink, white and violet-spotted flowers. In the very wet areas, there are also populations of rarer species here and there, such as the dark-violet flowering broad-leaved orchid, an orchid species that is unfortunately very endangered." https://www.natagora-bnvs.be/warche

The Warche is dammed twice - once in Bütgenbach and then in Robertville. The 40.4 km long river rises near the German border and flows into the Amel (Amblève) near Malmedy.
