Glückstadt is highly recommended for a short break. There are fantastic hiking and cycling opportunities here. The town itself is beautiful and offers many attractions. The harbor area boasts a lively nightlife scene with a great view of the waterfront.

The Nordoe Inland Dunes are now a 407-hectare nature reserve and part of the National Natural Heritage. The Nordoe Inland Dunes are an important refuge for rare and endangered animal and plant species. The ecosystem depends on the nutrient-poor conditions and open landscape. To maintain these conditions, the area is now managed through extensive grazing with Galloways, Highland cattle, and Exmoor ponies.

In Itzehoe, the old railway line is well developed and wide - towards Hohenlockstedt the path becomes narrower and narrower and ends in a narrow, thin trail - wonderful!
