In the centre of the market square stands the mighty cast-iron candelabra from 1869. All around it you can see an impressive backdrop of houses with the town hall and the town church. From the market you can look directly into the twelve radial streets planned on the drawing board, which converge here.

Brokdorf Beach is a small, picturesque sandy beach on the Elbe River, known for its beautiful sunsets and views of the nearby Brokdorf Nuclear Power Plant. Despite its proximity to the power plant, the beach is rarely crowded and is great for walking, photography, and cycling. However, visitors should be cautious of broken glass on the beach. The water tower, built in 1902, is a circular building with a height of 35.8 m. The shaft is made of bricks. The tower is only slightly wider in the tank area. This is because a Barkhausen tank was used instead of an Intze tank. This tank with a hemispherical tank base no longer requires a support ring and therefore represents progress. → More information on the tank shapes in the main article Water Tower The casing of the Kremper tank consists of a plastered iron frame that is clad with slate on the outside. It is topped off with a conical roof with a transmitting antenna on top.

The center of the town is the Renaissance town hall from 1570. The building was once decorated with a stepped gable and has a small roof turret. Inside are the council chamber and the large hall, both of which are richly decorated, as well as a large warehouse on the north side of the building. The town hall was extensively restored in 1990 and is one of the most beautiful historic town halls in the country. The market, which is almost completely surrounded by old buildings, is located around the town hall.
