I always take a short break here when I'm out on my racing bike and read something in the book that's lying here. Sometimes it's quite interesting.

What does "highlights" mean? It's the dilapidated Bergen train station.

Wunderlich's Backstuben is a traditional, family-run business in the Vogtland region. It has several branches throughout the region. Here in Oelsnitz, there's also a lovely café offering cakes and tortes, as well as breakfast and snack options and baked goods. Opening hours: Monday to Saturday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The building seen here was constructed between 1861 and 1864. The building was completely renovated and restored in 1990. The bell tower can be seen from afar as you enter the city. The building adorns the very spacious market square and is complemented by a fabulous fountain in front of it.

Nice for small children.

The Oelsnitz post milepost, erected in 1725, was lost in the chaos following the devastating city fire of 1859 and was re-erected as a faithful replica in 2018 on Grabenstraße. The milepost was made by the Ballmann stonemasonry from Cotta sandstone. The new milepost serves as a meeting point and starting point for guided city and hiking tours, as well as stagecoach tours along the old postal route from Leipzig to Cheb (Czech Republic).
