Beautiful scenery, especially when the sun is out!

The railway bridge in Neckargemünd is a special structure with two levels: Deutsche Bahn trains run on the top 🚆, while a safe footpath and cycle path runs below 🚶‍♀️🚴 – ideal for hikers and day-trippers along the Neckarsteig trail.

A new little café has opened in the pedestrian zone, and it's highly recommended. It's called Mrs. Landt, and in addition to excellent coffee, it also serves delicious homemade cakes. The café boasts a stylish interior. It's a very nice place to take a break.

Across the Neckar River, there is a beautiful view of Neckargemünd.

First mentioned in documents in 988 under the name Gmundi, King Henry VII elevated the settlement to a free imperial city around 1230. In 1330, Emperor Ludwig pledged Neckargemünd to the Count Palatine of the Rhine, who relocated the court of the Meckesheim Zent here in 1346. In 1395, Neckargemünd lost its status as an imperial city when it was incorporated into the Palatinate. In 1466, the town was granted market rights, which were expanded in 1544. In 1566, the town, like the entire Palatinate, became Protestant.

It offers a number of sights. The views of nature are wonderful. The well-maintained and paved bike path from Villingen-Schwennigen to Neckarsulm is also a dream. From there to Mannheim, gravel roads are occasionally required.
