San Daniele del Friuli, or simply San Daniele, is a small town with 7,922 inhabitants in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, situated at an altitude of 252 meters above sea level. It features historical buildings dating from the 16th to 18th centuries. The town was largely destroyed by an earthquake in 1976. Significant damage is also recorded from the earthquake of 1348.

Created in 2001 by the painters Giuseppe Brombin and Floreano Franzil, the mural dedicated to Italian cycling is a work created thanks to the contribution of the Province of Udine, located on the road from Bordano to Interneppo. The mural depicts a group of riders about to tackle the climb, depicted in real proportions. At the head of the group is Bottecchia, followed by Girardengo, Guerra, Binda, Bartali, Coppi, Magni, Nencini, Adorni, Gimondi, Moser and finally Pantani. The cyclists are preceded by Duilio Chiaradia, Rai's first sports cameraman, engaged in filming the race and followed by the depiction of Toni Lot to close the mural, in homage to his singular idea, which became reality. In October 2021, its renovation was inaugurated, which lasted 45 days and was entrusted to the master Paolo Mattiussi.

Susans Castle is an elegant seventeenth-century residence built on the ruins of previous medieval buildings and older settlements dating back to Roman times. It has the appearance of a Medici Villa and belonged to the Colloredo family until the end of the First World War. The building is surrounded by a large and well-kept Italian garden accessible to guests and visitors, fenced and equipped with internal parking. The Brunelde Domus Magna, which overlooks the ancient Via del Sale, is a fortified house owned by the Counts of Arcano located between the hills of Fagagna and Moruzzo. Its origins are very ancient; in the Lombard era and then throughout the Middle Ages it was a watchtower, to then be transformed into a fortified house in the 16th century, then into a hunting lodge in the 19th century. The rooms are rich in furnishings, portraits and family memories. Among these, the ancient kitchen, with the large fireplace and the mid-16th century rotisserie, the "red room" with glass and pewter from the 17th century, the "little room" that hosted Farinelli in 1731, the 14th century "caminata" with red and white checks, the study of the poet Mauro d'Arcano with 17th century wallpaper and the historical archive, the chapel of S. Nicolò with the precious stauroteca. The eastern wing has been designed to host guests who want to spend their holidays in a charming residence.
