The Fritz-Hornschuch-Bad in Mainleus is a well-maintained outdoor swimming pool with plenty of sunbathing space and a great atmosphere. It features a large sports pool, a huge water slide, and a kiosk.

The Schwarzacher Steg is a striking covered wooden bridge. It spans the Main River near Mainleus.

A hidden gem for anyone who enjoys delving into the past. The site consists of a central mound approximately three meters high and measuring roughly 17 x 20 meters in diameter. The mound is still enclosed by a ring ditch about 10 meters wide, vividly illustrating the former fortification. Its construction is estimated to date back to around 1000 AD.

Kieswäsch Lake is the ideal destination for those seeking relaxation just outside Kulmbach. Surrounded by meadows, the lake offers something for everyone: a level circular path invites you to stroll and hike. Those looking for more exercise will find excellent fitness equipment on a modern course. Large sunbathing lawns and a sandy beach at the lake create a true holiday atmosphere. For refreshments, there's a cozy beer garden right by the water.

A great spot for a break right on the cycling and hiking trail. The kiosk offers a relaxed atmosphere with a beer garden and a view of the bathing lake. We especially recommend the regional museum beer, the homemade cakes and tarts, and the savory snacks. Open from 11 am to 7 pm, Tuesday to Sunday, from May onwards. Closed on Mondays. Shorter opening hours apply in winter.

The narrow bridge over the Red Main leads to Steinenhausen Castle.

A mill "at the stone house" was first mentioned in 1316. This is the first documented mention of the place. The mill, of which only a few walls remain today, was twice destroyed by major fires. In September 1923, a fire broke out on the top floor of the then state-of-the-art mill. The local fire brigades tried to request a motorized pump from Kulmbach – unfortunately, their calls went unanswered, and the delay led to the complete destruction of the mill's equipment. After the major fire, the mill was modernized again by the owners in 1958. Then, in July 1962, another major fire broke out. When the fire brigades arrived, several parts of the mill were already engulfed in flames. Despite the valiant efforts of the firefighters and the use of a new turntable ladder, the mill burned to the ground.
