In 1946, 450 refugees from the Sudetenland came to Wöschbach. They felt welcome here. Wöschbach became their new home. People still fondly remember that. And so, three generations later, the "Heimatbrunnen" (Homeland Fountain) was created.

The first church in Wöschbach, already dedicated to "John the Baptist", located below the cemetery, was built around or before 1414. It was the size of a chapel and was a branch church of Jöhlingen until the 19th century. In 1812 the Wöschbach branch was separated from Jöhlingen, which at that time belonged to the diocese of Speyer. In 1863 the previous branch church of Wöschbach was elevated to a parish church. Following an order from the Archbishop's Ordinariate in Freiburg on May 15, 1891, the foundation stone for a new church was laid by Pastor Maurer on May 1, 1892. A copy of the document on the occasion of the laying of the foundation stone reads, "...the community counted 995 souls in the 1890 census, of which 981 were Catholic and 14 were Protestant." In 1895, the church of St. John the Baptist was consecrated by Auxiliary Bishop Friedrich Justus Knecht. The church was badly damaged and the roof completely destroyed by an air raid on the night of July 28-29, 1944. After the war, the war damage to the church was repaired and further renovations were carried out during three construction phases in 1950, 1962/64 and 1987/88.

The cross hiking trail begins and ends in Wöschbach and circles the present-day district of the municipality of Pfinztal to the southeast. It leads hikers past various types of street, devotional, path and field crosses, including the Königsbach cross. The Königsbach cross is made of yellow sandstone and dates from the late 18th century. It is simpler and stands on a former footpath and road that leads to the current twin municipality of Königsbach-Stein.
