History and technology buffs are recommended to Wunderland Kalkar in Germany, where a fast breeder reactor from the same era has been meaningfully reused as an amusement park.

Bangsbo Manor derives its "manorial" appeal primarily from the surrounding moat. The building itself is an old, single-story half-timbered house with side wings and a pretty fountain in the courtyard, a Biedermeier ensemble that is beautiful in its modesty. The park, divided into various themed areas, is truly worth seeing. There's a large rose garden with concentrically arranged borders, a collection of plants that grow wild in Denmark, a Bothan garden, and—a curiosity—a rock garden: here, you'll find a collection of old millstones, boundary stones, stone troughs, stone posts, and door hinges. Seating areas invite you to linger, and right at the front is the highly recommended Ice Cream and Mill House, which, according to experts, serves what experts consider the best soft ice cream ever. You can enjoy it in various lovingly decorated seating areas under the trees.

At the entrance to the park, right next to the roundabout, is a pavilion that houses the Ice Cream House. A fantastic soft-serve ice cream with a perfect mouthfeel, according to my youngest daughter—and she's an expert—the best soft-serve ice cream ever! With numerous delicious toppings and/or chocolate coating. And to rest your tired legs after a walk in the park, there are numerous lovingly arranged seating areas under the trees decorated with pretty lamps, terraces, a forest playground, and lots of painted stones. A very inviting place.
