The seemingly endless bridge to the ferries to Norway and Sweden spans the harbor. Fully glazed on both sides and weather-covered with a marine plank deck, it offers magnificent panoramic views of the harbor, including the military harbor, where Denmark's two large frigates can be seen. It also overlooks the grounds of the Modern American Recycling Services Europe (M.A.R.S.) shipyard, one of Europe's largest shipbreaking yards, dismantling 60,000-200,000 tons of ship capacity annually under European environmental standards and providing 159-200 jobs. Two large Tyra platforms were also dismantled here.

Directly behind the dunes is a large sports field where you can play beach volleyball. Since 1987, the Jutland Beach Badminton Championship, a very popular event in Denmark, has been held here as part of a major cultural and sports festival held around the summer solstice. The championship takes place in any wind speed, which gives it its special appeal. The winner of 2025, in a thrilling match in force 5 winds, was the famous and popular Olympic star Ele, who trains here at the Sonnercamp. Regarding the outcome of the game, which depends on the wind speed and gustiness, he is quoted as saying, "You don't need luck, just control."

An exceptionally well-designed, spacious forest playground offering plenty of space and numerous themed landscapes. Tree houses, an Indian village, a zip line, numerous climbing opportunities, a treasure hunt in the jungle, and much more. It's a shame our children are already so big. We would have spent many hours here in the past.

Directly on the palm-lined beach, just 50 meters from the beach house, the old anti-aircraft emplacement is hidden in the dunes. It once housed an exhibition, which can now be found in the Bangsbo Bunker Museum.

With its palm trees, this is a very unusual beach for Denmark. It's really beautifully designed, though, with a very gentle slope, making it easy to wade far into the water. It's perfect for families with small children. The beach is also lifeguarded. Behind the dunes, there are beach volleyball courts, a beach house for snacks and ice cream, and a wonderful forest playground. A row of dunes further on, you'll find a contrast from a darker era: the remains of an anti-aircraft emplacement, which can also be visited.
