The Kneese Pome Fruit Manufactory is a small, fine business in the village of Kneese, dedicated to processing fruit from local orchards with great passion. The cider press was founded in 2009 and has operated under its current name since 2022, after expanding its product range to include cider and fermented fruit products. What makes it special: Products: Freshly pressed juices, iced tea, cider, vinegar, distillates, and other delicacies. Philosophy: Artisan, sustainable, and with a love of the region – the fruit comes from over 100 heirloom varieties in Bioland-certified orchards. Experience: In autumn (September–November), you can even have your own apples processed there – a real highlight for families and fruit lovers. It is known for its natural juice from local orchards and is a point of contact for locals during the fruit harvest, who can have their fruit pressed into juice here. The association Sagen- und Märchenstraße Mecklenburg-Vorpommern e.V. has been able to present the project "Talking Benches in MV" to the public since November 22nd, 2022 with the support of the Ministry of Science, Culture, the Federal Government and European Affairs of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. This project is about the QR code that has been placed on benches of our members, communities and cities.  They are small stainless steel plaques with all the information printed on them that have been placed on the existing benches in Plau am See, Parchim, Neustadt-Glewe, Insel Poel, Zarrentin, Gadebusch, Rehna and Boizenburg, to name just a few, in order to make one of the legends of our country heard. All legends can also be accessed via our website. It was important to us to make this project barrier-free. Braille was applied so that the blind can feel that they are sitting on a "talking bench" in MV. For the deaf, we have provided the text so that they can read the legend. Small letter and word puzzles were also hidden for visitors to the bench and geocaching was also included. So, it is a great opportunity for young and old, for the residents and guests of our state, to deal with the topic of legends in Mecklenburg. We hope all users of the "talking benches" enjoy listening, look forward to further suggestions and thank the ministry once again for the financial support. Neuenkirchen village church Neuenkirchen church The somewhat hidden fieldstone church, with a half-timbered nave and bell tower, is, like the whole village of Neuenkirchen, an insider tip for many holidaymakers and has become known to a wider audience through the film "Hands off Mississippi". Lake Neuenkirchen, the proximity to Lake Schaalsee and the many small hills invite you to take a walk. The church with its adjoining cemetery rests on a hill in front of the lake and was mentioned in sources as early as 1194. When you enter the church, you look at a modern stained glass window entitled "The Good News" that invites interpretation. The oldest part of the church is the choir with two simple vaults and window arches in the transition from Romanesque to Gothic style. A special eye-catcher is the mostly closed altar shrine with figures from the pre-Reformation period. The church is used especially in the summer months for summer church as well as for the high feasts of the year.   In 2023, work will be carried out to renovate the interior of the nave. The measures are supported by the Mecklenburg church district, the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Strategy Fund), the German Foundation for Monument Protection, the Marlies Kressner Foundation and the Village Churches in Need M-V e.V. association.   Notes: The church can be visited.
