In the period before the construction of good roads, i.e. around 1900, water transport was one of the most important means of transport for both goods and people. The villages of Peize and Roderwolde had a close connection with the Peizerdiep, the Peizer and Roderwolder Schipsloot and a small port. The old waterway connection was connected to the Hoendiep and thus created a connection with the city of Groningen.

Nice plank path for young and old. Located near a bird watching hut which is also worth a visit. The plank path is narrow and has sufficient passing places. The plank path is not long in length and is part of a more than 2.5 km circular walk.

Very nice campsite Cnossen Leekermeer. Very well suited as a starting point for various cycle routes and for many water sports. Beautiful wind-protected gastronomy terrace with a view of the yacht harbor and the Leekermeer.
