The Protestant village church of Schünow is a Baroque hall church from the 18th century in Schünow, a district of the town of Zossen in the Teltow-Fläming district of Brandenburg. The parish belongs to the Zossen-Fläming church district of the Evangelical Church of Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia.

The lock connects the Notte Canal with the Mellensee and is one of three locks in the canal.

The Saalow Paltrock windmill is a listed historic Paltrock windmill in Saalow, a district of the municipality Am Mellensee in the Teltow-Fläming district (Brandenburg). It was built in Berlin in the mid-19th century as a post mill and moved to the Mühlenberg west of the town center of Saalow in 1903. It replaced an older post mill that had been destroyed by lightning and fire in 1902. In 1936 it was dismantled again from this location and moved to its current location southeast of the town center. It was converted into a Paltrock windmill. It was in operation until 1971.

Behind a newly built German Red Cross senior citizens' center there is a 19 hectare site that also housed a nursing home until 2004. It was a self-sufficient site with a pharmacy, hairdresser, daycare center, cinema and physiotherapy with an exercise pool, as well as a ballroom for 400 visitors. The ballroom in the building from the 1930s is particularly impressive with its various wall designs from the GDR era, ceramic seasons, Caucasian Chalk Circle wall paintings and fighting roosters sculptures. The buildings from the GDR era are less interesting. On the history of the facility: In 1936, a barracks complex was built on the site, which was initially used by an air force barrage balloon unit. In 1940, the barracks were converted into a training department for medical personnel. Until the end of the war, the facility was also a military hospital. The nearby cemetery contains the remains of 1,033 German soldiers and refugees who died here. At last there were 38 barracks here. Shortly after the end of the war, several barracks were destroyed. The remaining 22 barracks were used as accommodation for resettlers from 1946 onwards. A medical station was added in 1947. In 1948 it became a retirement home (old people's home), which became a nursing home in 1953. From 1954 onwards it was run as the Friendship Nursing Home. From 1956 to 1958, several large buildings were built. Up to 1,200 old people and those in need of care were housed in the nursing home. In 1990, there were still around 600 people living there in extremely poor conditions. Today, the site belongs to the TF district, which is looking for an investor.
