In 1893, a stopping point for passenger trains was opened here, and later a loading track for freight trains was added. Freight services ended in 1960, and the last passenger train stopped in 1980.

The location on the Komoot map isn't entirely accurate, but the hill is unmistakable in the sparse forest. Originally, it honored fallen soldiers of World War II; two additional stones mark the presumably more numerous victims of World War II.
